Because it wasn't designed to be an MMO.
But if I were a betting man, I'd put down a parcel on Bioware using the ME universe for an MMO setting.

Well RDR has taken up the last 45 hours of my gaming time, but I can't wait to get back into ME2...I just downloaded the DLC Overloard...anybody else try it out yet?

I'm ashamed to say I don't play ME2 anymore... the story is awesome, but once you take away that part, the game mechanics aren't enough to drive me back to it, too repetitive... I did only 1 playthrough, after 6 on the first episode, that's how much I didn't like the changes.
I'm waiting for as long as possible to try "rediscovering" the game later hopefully.

Only one playthrough for me too, I also don't really like the mechanics, but it is cool to play though. I have to admit, RDR is much more enjoyable for me.
